The upper elementary students (4-6th grade) at Maranatha Christian Academy are introduced to long-form writing and research projects. One of the best things to learn early (so it is easy later) is the proper sources for research.
The Kansas State Library offers access to some of the best resources geared towards Elementary Students (and older!) We recommend taking advantage of these considerable resources at:
http://kslib.info/966/Research-for-Kids
Specifically, students will find there that "Explora Kids" (see the attached document for a helpful guide for kids and Explora) offers truly world class content in an easily accessible fashion. You will also find the same is true of the Online Encyclopedia Britannica for Kids: "Britannica School."
If a family were to pay for access to these resources themselves the would need quite a bit of money. The KSL are really a wonderful place to go for great research. Head there now, you may go directly by clicking the following images as well. There is much more too! Click the link above if you want the main page.
