Use of Personal Information
Maranatha Christian Academy does not collect any personal information unless you voluntarily provide it by sending us e-mail, participating in a survey, or completing an on-line form. Forms may be used to inquire about admission, submit an enrollment application, register for an event, purchase tickets, register for an extracurricular activity, update alumni information, or process philanthropic donations. Personal information submitted will not be transferred to any non-affiliated third parties unless otherwise stated at the time of collection. When a user submits personally identifiable information it is used only for the purpose stated at the time of collection.
Security of your personal information
Maranatha Christian Academy takes all reasonable precautions to protect your personal information from loss, unauthorized access, modification and unauthorized disclosure. MCA maintains a Privacy & Security Breach Response Plan.
Disclosure to Third Parties
Except where required by law, Maranatha Christian Academy only discloses personal information to authorized third parties for school use. Authorized third parties must meet the aspects and expectations of MCA’s Privacy Policy and provide for public review their privacy policies and practices. We do not disclose names and addresses to any third parties for their own use. All affiliated third parties that have access to MCA digital data are disclosed and available online at Maranatha’s Security Information and Notification webpage. MCA regularly reviews and updates its Privacy Policy and reviews the policies of affiliated third parties.
Consent
Where consent for the use and disclosure of personal information is required, the school will seek consent from the appropriate person. Maranatha Christian Academy will generally seek the consent of the student’s parents / guardian and will treat consent given by the parent / guardian as consent given on behalf of the student.
Consent for the Use of Student Photos and Video Images
For internal circulation: for the purpose of praising and promoting the efforts of students or the school, Maranatha Christian Academy does not require consent.
For external situations:
Maranatha Christian Academy (MCA) may use photographs, audio and/or video recordings of MCA students. These photos may be placed on the internet, social media, in publications, promotional or educational materials, derivative works, or for any other similar purpose without compensation.
MCA students may be identified by name and/or title in printed, internet, social media or broadcast information that might accompany the photographs, audio, and/or video recordings. All such portraits, pictures, photographs, video, audio recordings, and reproductions thereof, all plates, negatives, recording tape, and digital files are and shall remain the property of the MCA. I may opt-out of the MCA Image and/or Likeness Release policy by submission of the applicable online form below.
Exceptions to the opt-out include internal publications such as school emails, annual school pictures, yearbooks, etc. MCA cannot guarantee that a child's image or likeness will not appear in a crowd or other such captures but will attempt to limit the usage thereof.
To opt-out of the MCA Image and/or Likeness Policy and request for MCA to limit the usage of your child’s image please submit this form by September 2, 2019.

Any photos or video taken by families must be for personal use only and not posted in any public places outside of the school.
Ensuring Accurate Information
The first step in data security is correct information. Maranatha Christian Academy takes all reasonable precautions to ensure that the personal information we collect, use and disclose, is accurate, complete and up to date. MCA families should review annually their demographic, registration and financial information and update all changes to personal information, such as your name and address, and consent for use of images for off campus promotion.
Personal Information Access
You have a right to access your personal information, subject to some exceptions allowed by law. If you would like to do so, please let us know. You may be required to put your request in writing for security reasons.
