There are a few ways to set up checking email on any phone, and they depend on what apps you choose to check your mail with. The most common are below.
1. Set up email in Outlook for Android

2. Use the built-in email or Gmail App on your device
There are primarily two email apps that are most widely used on Android, the Gmail app and the Samsung Email app.
To get started,
Identify which built-in app you will use for your email, then go through the Step-Throughs set up to help on the Original Microsoft Webpage; here. Your choices will be illustrated and customized for the:

If you use the Gmail App, be sure to read their notice:
ALERT Gmail app users: You may experience an issue where Outlook.com emails are being added as an IMAP account instead of an Exchange ActiveSync account.
